Tattooing is a healing art. We all need a feeling of belonging a feeling of community, whether that is conscious or unconscious. At Cats Tats Skin Art Studio I wanted to change the way tattooing is looked upon. I wanted to help people express themselves. I think that we as a western culture don't mark rights of passage like the ancient tribal cultures do and did; I believe tattoos help with our sense of belonging. I was very motivated by my experiences in tattoo shops and felt a need to change the stereotypical image of a tattoo shop and to change the feeling of intimidation in getting tattooed. I feel a duty in informing and teaching people safety in body art and an integrity in what I do. I don't think that tattooing should have negative connotations attached to it or the people who wear the art openly. My wish is that one day all people will not be judged by the way we look. I feel truly blessed and honoured to be able to help people on their path.
